I'm really, really into the distressed wood look that's been floating around lately, but the hefty price tag goes along with reclaimed wood
DIY Patterned Magnetic Board
I'd be lying if I said I was big on new year's resolutions.
Mostly I gear towards endless amount of sticky notes and scattered to-lists to try and get me through the year (if you could send me resolution's vibes that would be great).

To try and gather all of my post-its and list all in one cute place, I used a little fabric and the Ikea SPONTAN magnetic board to spice up my organization this time around. It's a really simple and customizable DIY that just about anyone can do.
Materials:
- SPONTAN magnetic board
- Magnets
- dots
- A yard of fabric (which you can buy inexpensively at Ikea as well)
- Spray glue
- Scissors

First, make sure you have just enough fabric laid out (and preferably ironed) to cover the board with about 3 extra inches on all borders.

Spray the magnetic board with spray glue (I used the Tacky glue brand because it washes up with water), and place the fabric over top and smooth it out with your hands. Next, spray the edges with glue and then fold and smooth the fabric over them as well.

Spray the back edges with glue and then fold the remainder of the fabric over the back, neatly folding the corners so that no fabric hangs over the edge. You can trim any excess fabric away as well.

I glued magnet dots to the back of paper flowers and a sewn envelope that I got at the local craft store to add color to the board.

Once you've got your magnets, you're all set to organize your bits and pieces into one cute place!
