Organization and Design with Sugar & Cloth at IKEA Houston

A big thank you to everyone who came out to the Get Organized event at Ikea Houston

this past Saturday, it was a huge success and mostly we can thank you for that! In case you weren't able to make it out I, Ashley, have put together a little recap of the projects we worked during my DIY workshop so that you wouldn't miss out on all of the fun.

IKEA Paintbrush in Paint

It's one thing to get organized, and it's a totally different thing to get organized and do it in style. Cool thing is that just about all of the Ikea organizers and boxes can be customized to whatever your style may be, which is what we worked on this past Saturday. We took the Ikea FLYT magazine files (and in my case the FÖRHÖJA box set) and spiced them up using painter's tape, craft paint, stencils, and labels to create one-of-a-kind organizers to fit our own tastes.

FÖRHÖJA Box Painted

For mine, I simply wrapped painters tape around the bottom of the box set, and painted the bottom portions each different colors.

IKEA Painted Magazine Folders

For my magazine folders, I used gold as a common theme and painted each one with different base colors and shapes, then used an Ikea bookend to hold them together neatly.

I also created a neat twist to the kitchen magnet board which I'll share with you next week. In the meantime, tell us what you liked about the event or if you have any awesome Ikea organizing tricks of your own!
